Winter Poem Activities

Here are some great activity and craft ideas involving winter poems! Share your ideas with us on social media!

The snow globe in this activity is made with a clear plastic dessert plate. The inside of the snow globe can be any type of winter scene. This example shows a little snowman with snow. Cotton balls, foam pieces, and photos can be used to give the globe a 3 dimensional look. The base of the snow globe can be used to write a story of the scene, write a poem, or a creative phrase.

This example features a cut-out picture of a student.

Directions:
On a sheet of construction paper trace the dessert plate. Inside the traced circle, create a winter scene. Once the winter scene is complete, glue or staple the clear dessert plate on top of the scene. Trace a trapezoid shape and glue it to the bottom of the snow globe. Add your story, poem or creative phrase to the base.

FunHandprintArtBlog.com featured this activity, which will make a nice keepsake for students and their parents.

Place a handprint of white paint on the left side of a blue or black sheet of construction paper. After the white paint dries, have the students decorate each finger as a snowman. For best results use fine point paint pins to create the snowmen.
Add the 5 Snowmen poem to complete this adorable project!

Poem:
These aren’t just 5 snowmen,
As anyone can see.
I made them with my hand,
which is part of me.
Now you can look back and recall,
when my hand was just this small.
