Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with these great units!

September 15 is the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month, and we have several literature units that are perfect to celebrate Latino culture!
In Separate Is Never Equal, author Duncan Tonatiuh tells the true story of the Mendez family, who went to court to ensure the right of Hispanic children to attend public schools with white children. You can order the literature unit for this book by clicking right here.
In I Pledge Allegiance, authors Pat Mora and Libby Martinez tell the true story of how a Mexican-American family embraced the Pledge of Allegiance when their grandmother becomes a U.S. citizen. It’s a wonderful book, and you can order the literature unit by clicking right here.
In The Three Little Tamales, author Eric Kimmel gives us a fun twist on “The Three Little Pigs,” using the Mexican food favorite as stand-ins for the pigs. You can purchase a copy of the literature unit by clicking right here.
We’ll continue to post more resources to mark Hispanic Heritage Month! Watch for them!
